The Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford

The Fuller Building also known as the Hartt School of Music was a winter break project. In order to keep my mind sharp and architecture focused I devised a project that would allow me to accurately model a building located on the University of Hartford campus. I choose the Hartt School because of the dynamic landscapes, changes in elevation, and its complexity. The building was first designed from old blue prints which I was able to redraw in Autodesk AutoCAD. From there I exported the files into Autodesk Revit where I was able to create the 3D modeling.

Project Features:

AutoCAD Features:

1. Created a full set of floor plans designed off the original floor plans.

2. The floor plans were layered in order to help with the overall organization of the building.

3. All aspects of the building were designed including; Millard Auditorium, classrooms, bathrooms, hallways,
over fifty different practice rooms, and a sky-bridge over and elaborate exterior staircase.

Revit Features:

1. Recreated the floor plans designed using the AuotCAD files to give them three-dimesnion

2. Created the topography in which to lay the building on including the topography for the five level
main staircase running thru the middle of the site.

3. Rendered all exterior views of the building including some more dynamic exterior perspectives.

4. Building accurately depicts every aspect of the site and building.
